Ajmer: Union Minister for Minority Affairs Kiren Rijiju on Monday visited the revered Ajmer Sharif Dargah and presented a sacred chadar at the shrine of Hazrat Khwaja Garib Nawaz on behalf of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The visit was made on the occasion of the annual Urs, one of the most significant spiritual gatherings at the historic Sufi shrine.

During his visit, Rijiju conveyed the Prime Minister’s message of unity and goodwill to the nation. He offered prayers seeking peace, harmony, and prosperity for the country, highlighting the enduring teachings of Khwaja Garib Nawaz that promote love, compassion, and service to humanity beyond religious boundaries.

Calling the visit a matter of honour, the Union Minister said representing the Prime Minister and the Union Cabinet at Ajmer Sharif was a deeply meaningful experience. He noted that the shrine has always played a vital role in strengthening India’s tradition of communal harmony and inclusive spirituality.

Rijiju also reviewed the arrangements made for devotees during the Urs and interacted with officials involved in managing the event. He pointed out that the administration of the Dargah Sharif is governed by an Act of Parliament, making it his responsibility as the concerned minister to ensure smooth coordination and facilities for pilgrims.
