Lucknow: Ayodhya witnessed a landmark moment on Monday as Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir and formally hoisted a grand saffron flag atop the temple’s Shikhar, marking a major milestone in India’s spiritual and cultural journey. The visit took place on the auspicious Panchami of Shukla Paksha in Margashirsha, a day associated with the divine union of Lord Ram and Goddess Sita, and also observed as the martyrdom day of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.

Arriving in the holy city around 10 AM, the Prime Minister began his visit with prayers at Saptmandir. He then proceeded to other significant temples within the complex, including the Sheshavatar Mandir and Mata Annapurna Mandir. Heavy security arrangements were in place as thousands of devotees gathered along the route to witness the historic occasion.

PM Modi later offered Darshan and Pooja at the Ram Darbar Garbh Grah and the Ram Lalla Garbha Grah, where rituals were performed by temple priests. Shortly after noon, he ascended to the temple’s upper structure and ceremonially unfurled a 10×20-foot saffron flag atop the Shikhar. The flag, featuring symbols representing the ideals of Ram Rajya and the virtues of Bhagwan Shri Ram, was raised amid chants of “Jai Shri Ram” echoing across Ayodhya.
