Patna: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav broke his silence after the Bihar assembly election setback, extending warm wishes to Nitish Kumar, who was sworn in as Bihar Chief Minister for a record 10th term. He also congratulated the newly constituted state cabinet, signaling a tone of political maturity despite the fierce campaign battle.
Taking to X, Yadav posted a message acknowledging the moment and offering goodwill to the incoming administration. “Heartfelt congratulations to the esteemed Shri Nitish Kumar Ji on taking the oath of office as the Chief Minister of Bihar. Heartfelt best wishes to all the ministers of the Bihar government who took the oath as members of the Council of Ministers,” he wrote.
In another post, the RJD leader shared his expectations from the new government, stating, “Asha hai ki nayi sarkar zimmedaripurn logon ki ashaon pe khara utar apne vaadon evam ghoshnayon ko poora karegi aur Biharwasiyon ke jeevan mein saakaratmak aur gunatmak parivartan laayegi.”
(Translation: I hope the new government will live up to the hopes and expectations of responsible people, fulfill its promises and declarations, and bring positive and qualitative changes in the lives of the people of Bihar.)
The swearing-in ceremony, held at Gandhi Maidan in Patna, was attended by top national leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Nitish Kumar, along with a 26-member cabinet, was administered the oath by Governor Arif Mohammed Khan.
Among the key leaders inducted were Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, who have taken charge as the state’s two Deputy Chief Ministers. Their inclusion reflects the NDA’s renewed power structure following its resounding victory in the elections.
The NDA registered a sweeping mandate, winning 202 out of 243 seats, with the BJP emerging as the single-largest party with 89 seats, followed by the JD(U)’s 85 seats. The landslide paved the way for Kumar to stake claim to form the government soon after his resignation earlier in the week.
