Faridabad’s Al-Falah University has landed in major controversy after the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) issued a show-cause notice for displaying false accreditation claims on its website, which has now been taken offline. The move follows shocking revelations linking the university to individuals accused in the Red Fort blast that killed 13 people in Delhi.

NAAC’s notice states that Al-Falah’s website falsely listed ‘A’ grades for its engineering and education colleges — accreditations that had expired in 2018 and 2016 respectively. The council has demanded an explanation, warning that strict action may follow if the institution fails to justify its actions.

Adding to the crisis, investigators discovered that Dr. Umar Nabi, the alleged mastermind behind the Delhi car blast, and his two associates, Dr. Muzammil Shakeel and Dr. Shaheen Shahid, were employed at the university. Officials have described the group as part of a “white-collar terror network.”

Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has begun examining the university’s funding sources and financial transactions, amid suspicions of money flow connected to extremist activities.
