Mumbai: In an emotional and thought-provoking incident from Maharashtra’s Akola district, a 34-year-old farmer’s son has written a heartfelt letter to Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar faction) chief Sharad Pawar, pleading for help in finding a life partner.
According to ABP LIVE, the young man expressed deep concern over his unmarried status, stating, “I’m getting older, and it feels like I’ll never get married. Please understand my loneliness and help me find someone so I can start a family.” He even mentioned his readiness to live as a ghar jamai — a husband who stays with his wife’s family — and promised to “work hard and be a good husband.”
The appeal highlights a growing social challenge in Maharashtra’s agrarian regions like Vidarbha and Marathwada, where young men from farming families often struggle to find brides. The crisis stems from deep-rooted financial distress, recurring droughts, and rising debts, leading many families to avoid marrying their daughters into agricultural households.
The farmer’s son’s letter has gone viral on social media, with users praising his honesty and courage to express his emotions publicly.
