Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) supporter Radhika Khera has raised questions about Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s unannounced foreign trips, suggesting a “suspicious pattern” coinciding with major security incidents in India.
In an X post shared on November 13, Khera commented on Gandhi’s recent travel, writing, “Heard Rahul Gandhi went to Muscat But ended up in London.” She also shared a video showing Gandhi at Heathrow Airport in London, accompanied by his niece, Miraya Vadra.
Her remarks follow the tragic car explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort on November 10, officially classified as a terror attack, which killed 12 people and injured more than 20. The 16-second clip circulating online, originally posted by Instagram user @i_om_45, reportedly shows Gandhi in London around November 7, lending credence to claims of his presence in the UK during that period.
The clip was captioned: “I met Rahul Gandhi at Heathrow London airport. #rahulgandhi #politician #rjd.” The Congress party has not publicly confirmed the purpose or duration of Gandhi’s trip, while social media has speculated about a Muscat itinerary.
In her post, Khera wrote, “Heard Rahul Gandhi went to Muscat But ended up in London. Every few weeks, Rahul Baba goes missing. No press release, no party statement. Just foreign trips and ‘mystery.’ What’s cooking in these ‘secret trips’? Five days ago in London, two days later, Delhi blast. This isn’t just coincidence, it’s a ‘pattern.’”
The post sparked sharp partisan debate online. BJP supporters echoed Khera’s claims of a “pattern,” while Congress sympathisers highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s absences during national crises, including the 2019 Pulwama attack, to counter the narrative.
Gandhi has recently been in the spotlight for alleging voter fraud against the BJP and the Election Commission of India. During the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, he claimed that over one lakh “fake votes” were allegedly used in Bengaluru’s Mahadevapura constituency to benefit the BJP, prompting the EC to request supporting evidence.
More recently, Gandhi raised concerns over irregularities in the Haryana Assembly elections. The Election Commission issued notices seeking proof and a sworn declaration, noting no formal objections had been raised during the voter roll revision process.
BJP leaders, including Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar, dismissed Gandhi’s claims as politically motivated. Amit Malviya described them as a “pattern of misinformation” rather than verified evidence.
