Patna: As the first phase of Bihar Assembly elections continued, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) raised serious concerns over alleged irregularities in the polling process across several constituencies considered strongholds of the Mahagathbandhan.

According to RJD, voting in these areas was deliberately being conducted at a slow pace, with frequent interruptions caused by power cuts and technical glitches. The party alleged that such disruptions were part of a deliberate attempt to suppress voter turnout in regions where the opposition enjoys strong support.

However, the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Bihar firmly rejected the allegations, calling them “completely baseless and misleading.”

In an official statement, the CEO said, “Voting is taking place smoothly at all polling stations in Bihar. The Election Commission of India is following all standard protocols to ensure that the voting process is fair, transparent, and uninterrupted. There is no basis for such misleading propaganda.”
