Patna: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Anurag Thakur launched a sharp attack on the Congress party during a campaign event in Bihar, accusing its leaders of spreading lies and misleading the people with false promises.

Thakur alleged that the Congress has consistently deceived citizens for political gain. “Congress is a lying party. Congress leaders are liars. Congress’s data is false. Congress’s promises are lies. They make false promises and then disappear. Once they get power, they backtrack,” he said, adding that the people of Bihar “will no longer listen to these lies.”

Drawing a contrast between past and present governance, Thakur criticized the RJD-Congress alliance, saying the state had suffered during Lalu Prasad Yadav’s regime, which he described as an era of “Jungle Raj.”

“The people of Bihar don’t want Jungle Raj; they want Mangal Raj. Jungle Raj was Lalu Prasad Yadav’s regime, where there were murders, kidnappings, extortion, rapes, broken roads, and life was difficult for people. Today, under Nitish Kumar and Narendra Modi’s government, Bihar is thriving with Mangal Raj,” Thakur said.
