Patna: A fresh political tussle has erupted in Bihar after Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) chief and Mahagathbandhan’s Deputy CM face Mukesh Sahani hit back at Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for his recent criticism of the opposition alliance.

Speaking to reporters in Patna, Sahani accused Nitish Kumar of “copying” Mahagathbandhan’s welfare agenda while claiming credit for half-fulfilled promises.

“We said that we would increase the Vridha Pension from ₹400 to ₹1,500, but you increased it to ₹1,100. We had said that we would provide 200 units of electricity for free, but you provided only 125 units for free,” Sahani remarked, directly addressing the chief minister’s remarks.

He further said Nitish Kumar’s government lacked originality and direction.

“You don’t have your own vision; you are copying our vision. We will fulfil our resolution and form the government,” he declared confidently.

The comments come amid rising political heat in Bihar as parties gear up for the next Assembly elections. Nitish Kumar, who recently lashed out at the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) for “making empty promises,” found himself counter-attacked by Sahani, who positioned his party as the true advocate of people-centric governance.
