Mumbai: A shocking new report has revealed that Delhi ranks highest in India when it comes to the daily use of abusive language. The findings are part of an extensive 11-year-long survey conducted under the “Gaali Band Ghar Abhiyan” (No Abuses at Home Campaign), initiated by Dr. Sunil Jaglan, founder of the Selfie with Daughter Foundation and Professor of Practice at Maharishi Dayanand University.
According to the survey, 80% of people in Delhi admitted to using abusive words in their daily conversations, with the most common being those targeting mothers, sisters, and daughters. Following Delhi, Punjab recorded 78%, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar 74% each, Rajasthan 68%, and Haryana 62%.
Maharashtra stood at 58%, Gujarat at 55%, Madhya Pradesh at 48%, and Uttarakhand at 45%. Surprisingly, Jammu & Kashmir showed the lowest percentage, with only 15% of respondents admitting to using abusive language.
The survey included over 70,000 participants across various sections of society – including youth, parents, teachers, doctors, auto drivers, students, police personnel, lawyers, businessmen, sanitation workers, professors, and panchayat members.
