BJP Fears AAP’s Rise in Gujarat, Resorts to Political Vendetta Again: Atishi

New Delhi: Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Delhi Assembly’s Leader of Opposition, Atishi, has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of reviving a political vendetta campaign following AAP’s resounding success in the Visavadar by-election in Gujarat. Speaking at a press conference, Atishi alleged that the BJP, stung by its defeat despite deploying immense resources, is now misusing central investigative agencies to frame AAP leaders in fabricated cases.

Atishi remarked, “After their crushing loss in Visavadar, the BJP has once again activated the ED and CBI for political revenge. This comes even after the Supreme Court has slammed these agencies, calling them ‘caged parrots’ manipulated for political gains.”

She accused the BJP of using “money, intimidation, alcohol distribution, and state machinery” during the Visavadar bypoll to sway voters, yet failing to defeat AAP’s Gopal Italia. “Despite their tactics, AAP secured a landslide victory. The people of Gujarat have begun rejecting three decades of BJP misrule,” she added.

The AAP leader highlighted how recent floods crippled Surat, exposing governance failures. “For days, people struggled without help. Infrastructure lies in ruins, public services have collapsed, and people are desperate for change. That’s why they are now rallying behind AAP,” she said.

Calling the reactivation of central probes a desperate ploy, Atishi asserted, “Let the BJP investigate every project we’ve done — they won’t find a rupee of corruption. We are not afraid. Their tactics won’t silence us. Gujarat wants transformation, and AAP is the alternative.”
