Srinagar: In a notable outreach initiative under the Civic Action Programme (CAP), the 92 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), in collaboration with Government Medical College (GMC) Handwara, organized a free medical camp at Government Higher Secondary School, Warpora Magam, Handwara.
The camp witnessed a large turnout of local residents, who benefited from free medical check-ups and medicines. A team of six medical officers provided healthcare services to nearly 300 civilians, offering consultations and distributing essential medications. Locals also received guidance on preventive healthcare and awareness about common diseases.
According to a CRPF spokesperson, “The main objective of the medical camp was to provide essential health services to underserved communities and promote awareness regarding the importance of regular health check-ups, hygiene, and a healthy lifestyle.”
The camp was inaugurated by former Planning Officer Ali Mohammad from Pahaldaji Magam, in the presence of Naresh Kumar, Commandant of the 92 Battalion. Addressing the gathering, the Commandant emphasized the importance of physical fitness, hygiene, and community well-being. He also highlighted CRPF’s ongoing efforts to build trust and strong relationships with the local population.
Residents welcomed the initiative warmly, with many expressing deep gratitude to the CRPF for conducting the first major medical outreach program in the area. Prominent locals praised the force for its commitment to public welfare and urged for more such initiatives in the future.
The successful organization of this medical camp reaffirms the CRPF’s dedication to the health and well-being of the people, further strengthening its bond with the community.
