New Delhi: A devastating fire broke out in Delhi’s Dwarka Sector-13 on Tuesday morning, claiming the lives of three members of a family — a father and his two young children. The incident occurred at Shabd Apartment around 10 AM, sending shockwaves through the residential community.
According to eyewitnesses, the father, identified as 35-year-old Yash Yadav, attempted a desperate escape from the seventh floor with his children. In a heart-wrenching bid to save their lives, Yadav reportedly jumped from the apartment balcony with his 10-year-old son and daughter.
Tragically, both children succumbed to their injuries after being rushed to the hospital. Yash Yadav, too, was declared dead at IGI Hospital shortly after.
A senior Delhi Police official confirmed the casualties, stating, “Two children (a boy and a girl, both aged 10 years) jumped from the balcony to save themselves and were declared dead at a hospital. Later, their father, Yash Yadav, aged 35 years, also jumped from the balcony and was declared dead at IGI Hospital.”
Massive plumes of black smoke enveloped the building, as terrified residents cried for help. Visuals circulating on social media show flames engulfing multiple floors and people trapped inside, awaiting rescue.
