New Delhi: In the backdrop of escalating tensions and a recent ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address the nation at 8 PM on Monday. This will be his first public statement since the Indian Armed Forces launched Operation Sindoor on May 7, targeting nine terror facilities across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), in retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives.

The PM’s address follows a series of critical briefings — first by Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri in the immediate aftermath of the strikes, and more recently by the top brass of the Indian military, who took over communication responsibilities on Sunday and continued through Monday afternoon. With the baton now passed to the Prime Minister, tonight’s speech is expected to outline the government’s future course of action and reassure the nation amid volatile regional dynamics.
