New Delhi: In a major development following India’s bold counter-terror campaign Operation Sindoor, reports from intelligence sources suggest that ten family members of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) chief Masood Azhar were killed in precision strikes carried out by the Indian armed forces in Bahawalpur, Pakistan.

According to media reports, the deceased include Masood Azhar’s elder sister and his brother-in-law, marking a significant blow to the leadership ecosystem of the Pakistan-based terrorist group.

The military operation was launched in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, in which multiple Indian security personnel lost their lives. #OperationSindoor targeted terrorist launchpads in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK), with high-value locations linked to terror masterminds being carefully selected based on actionable intelligence.

The Indian armed forces, using precision-guided munitions and real-time surveillance, hit several key terror hubs operated by groups like Jaish-e-Mohammed and Hizbul Mujahideen. The Bahawalpur strike, in particular, is seen as a direct message to the leadership of JeM, a UN-designated terrorist organization responsible for numerous attacks in India, including the 2019 Pulwama massacre.

While the Pakistani establishment has yet to confirm the casualties, multiple international and local media reports have echoed the claim that top family members of Azhar were present at one of the targeted facilities.
