Srinagar: A shutdown is being observed in Kashmir today in protest against the terrorist attack in the Baisaran area of Pahalgam in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

The shutdown has been called by the business fraternity, private school associations, religious bodies, and political parties as a form of protest and mourning.

Similarly, their counterparts in Jammu have also called for a strike against the killings.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Srinagar yesterday evening to assess the security situation in the Valley following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam.

Today, Shah is scheduled to visit Pahalgam, assess the security scenario, and visit GMC Anantnag to meet the injured tourists. (GNS)
