Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir People’s Conference (JKPC) President and MLA from Handwara, Sajad Gani Lone, has strongly condemned the brutal terrorist attack in Pahalgam, calling it a cowardly act aimed at derailing peace and prosperity in the region.
In his statement, Lone said: “At a time when Kashmir is witnessing a peaceful atmosphere with a surge in tourist arrivals, such barbaric acts are deeply unfortunate. The people of Kashmir are reaping the benefits of peace — hotels are full, restaurants are thriving, livelihoods are being restored — but it seems that this return to normalcy is intolerable to those who thrive on violence.”
He expressed heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and extended solidarity with all those affected.
“Our hearts go out to the bereaved families. Such senseless violence is unacceptable and must be condemned by all right-thinking people,” he added.
Lone urged the government and security agencies to act decisively against those responsible and to ensure the safety of all citizens and tourists. “We must not allow these forces of destruction to succeed. The resolve of the people of Jammu and Kashmir for peace is stronger than their hatred,” he said.- (KDC)
