New Delhi: The Delhi Police on Saturday submitted a status report in the ongoing case of alleged defacement of public property involving former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, ex-MLA Gulab Singh, and MCD councillor Nitika Sharma. The report was filed before the Rouse Avenue Court, which had earlier directed the registration of an FIR in the matter.

According to the police submission, efforts are underway to locate the accused individuals. The report stated, “Consistent efforts are being made to trace the accused persons,” and requested additional time to carry forward the investigation.

Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) Neha Mittal took the status report on record and listed the matter for the next hearing on May 3, 2025.

The case stems from a complaint alleging violations of the Delhi Prevention of Defacement of Property Act, specifically in the Dwarka area during 2019. On March 11, 2025, the Rouse Avenue Court had ordered the Delhi Police to file an FIR and submit a compliance report based on the complaint.

In its update, the police mentioned that a site plan was prepared on April 3 based on inputs from the complainant, and the same has been placed on record.

The FIR, now under investigation, names Arvind Kejriwal, former MLA Gulab Singh, and councillor Nitika Sharma in connection with unauthorized posters and hoardings allegedly put up during a political campaign.

The case continues to attract attention due to the political prominence of the individuals involved, particularly Kejriwal, who served multiple terms as Delhi’s Chief Minister and remains a key political figure.
