New Delhi: A fresh political row erupted in Delhi after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) accused former Delhi Chief Minister Atishi of disrespecting Dr. Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar by allegedly placing his poster near her feet during a protest outside the Delhi Assembly. The BJP shared an image of the incident on social media, calling out the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for what it termed as “anti-Dalit” behavior.

“The reality of the AAP-D gang which is anti-Dalit and always insults Baba Saheb. Atishi Marlena is busy looking at her phone with Baba Saheb’s photo near her feet,” the Delhi BJP unit posted on ‘X’.

The controversy comes a day after Atishi accused the newly elected BJP-led government of removing Ambedkar’s portraits from the Chief Minister’s office. She had shared a picture of herself seated in the CM’s office with portraits of Ambedkar and Bhagat Singh, contrasting it with an image of new Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s office, which displayed portraits of Mahatma Gandhi, President Droupadi Murmu, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi instead.

BJP Hits Back With Counter Image

In response, the BJP released another picture showing Ambedkar’s photo on an adjacent wall of the CM’s office, refuting Atishi’s claims. The exchange has fueled tensions between the two parties, with BJP leaders accusing AAP of misleading the public for political mileage.
