New Delhi: BJP leader Rekha Gupta is set to take charge as the Chief Minister of Delhi, marking a historic moment as she becomes the third woman to hold the post. Representing the Shalimar Bagh Assembly constituency, Gupta is a seasoned politician and a lawyer by profession, holding a law degree from Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut.
According to her affidavit for the 2025 Delhi elections, Gupta’s total declared assets amount to over ₹5.31 crore, while her liabilities exceed ₹1.20 crore. In the fiscal year 2023-24, she reported an annual income of ₹6.92 lakh, while her husband, Manish Gupta, earned ₹97.33 lakh. The previous year, their respective incomes stood at ₹4.87 lakh and ₹64.56 lakh.
Her financial disclosures also reveal ₹4.03 lakh in cash holdings, deposits of ₹72.94 lakh in banks and financial institutions, and investments worth ₹9.29 lakh in bonds, debentures, and shares. The couple owns a Maruti XL6 (2020 model) valued at ₹4.33 lakh, 360 grams of jewelry worth ₹29 lakh, and a residential property in Shalimar Bagh valued at ₹2.6 crore.
Gupta’s swearing-in is set to take place in a grand ceremony, marking the return of the BJP to power in Delhi. As she assumes office, all eyes will be on her governance and the promises she made during the election campaign.
