New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday launched a blistering attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and its leader, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, accusing them of misusing public funds and failing to deliver on promises.

Speaking during an interaction with BJP workers in the national capital, Modi referred to Kejriwal’s official residence as “Sheesh Mahal,” a term coined by the BJP to criticize the alleged lavish upgrades at the CM’s bungalow.

Modi alleged that public money was spent to install extravagant facilities at the official residence while ignoring pressing issues faced by Delhi residents. “The central government provides funds for the development of Delhi, but the AAP government has not used these funds to repair roads, improve sewerage systems, maintain sanitation, or create parks,” Modi said.

He accused AAP of functioning on a foundation of “deceit and lies” and failing to fulfill its promises to the people. “They think they can continue their governance based on lies, but the people of Delhi deserve better. They have not completed the promises made to the public,” he added.

The BJP has ramped up its criticism of AAP as Delhi gears up for elections. The party has made the alleged misuse of funds at the CM’s residence a central theme of its campaign, contrasting it with issues like poor infrastructure and inadequate civic amenities in the city.
