Patna: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav has accused Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj Party of being a “B-team” of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s government. His remarks came after police used water cannons to disperse Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) aspirants protesting alleged irregularities in the 70th BPSC preliminary examination.

In a video statement released late Sunday, Yadav alleged that the students, who had been protesting for nearly two weeks at Patna’s Gardani Bagh, were misled by “elements acting as the government’s B-team.” Without naming Prashant Kishor directly, Yadav said, “This movement was started by students and had shaken the government. But some individuals misguided the protesters, encouraging them to march towards Gandhi Maidan despite administrative warnings.”

Criticizing the role of Jan Suraaj Party leaders, he added, “When it was time to face the lathi charge and water cannons, those who had offered to lead the protests chose to run away.”

Earlier on Sunday, Prashant Kishor had addressed the protesters at Gandhi Maidan and expressed solidarity with their demands. However, later in the day, the demonstration escalated when students attempted to march toward the chief minister’s residence, prompting police action.

Patna District Magistrate Chandrashekhar Singh confirmed that the administration had warned against such actions. “An FIR has been filed against Prashant Kishor, Jan Suraaj Party president Manoj Bharti, and several others for disrupting public order and instigating protesters,” Singh said.
