Mumbai: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has announced decisive and swift action in the horrific case involving a 12-year-old girl in Kalyan East. Renowned senior advocate Ujjwal Nikam will represent the case in court, and the Thane Police Commissioner has been directed to ensure the chargesheet is filed within 30 days.

“The victim was like my daughter. Ensuring justice for her is my responsibility. The culprits will face severe punishment within four months,” the Chief Minister declared.

On Saturday, the victim’s parents met Chief Minister Fadnavis, accompanied by Mumbai BJP Vice President Amarjeet Mishra and Kalyan East MLA Sulbha Gaikwad. During the meeting, the family expressed their anguish and demanded justice. The Chief Minister assured them of full support and reiterated that strict action would be taken against the accused.

Fadnavis instructed the Thane Police Commissioner to ensure the safety and security of the victim’s family. “The family should not fear anyone. If there is any harassment, strict action will follow,” he said, emphasizing that the culprits would not evade justice and would face the harshest punishment.

After the meeting, Amarjeet Mishra stated, “This case concerns not just one family but the safety and justice of all daughters. The Chief Minister’s decision to appoint an experienced advocate like Ujjwal Nikam and expedite the chargesheet filing is a crucial step towards ensuring justice.”

As immediate financial assistance, Amarjeet Mishra presented a cheque of ₹1 lakh to the victim’s family. The meeting was also attended by prominent figures, including Vijay Upadhyay, I.P. Mishra, and C.P. Mishra.
