Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, in a sharp attack on the Congress, predicted that the upcoming assembly elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand would mirror the recent results from Haryana. Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Naidu, a BJP ally, praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his leadership and credited him with restoring normalcy in Jammu and Kashmir, where the BJP emerged as the single largest party in the region.
“I congratulate Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his historic electoral victory in Haryana and good performance in Jammu and Kashmir. This is an example that whenever a credible leader performs well, people support him. Even in Jammu and Kashmir, BJP is the largest party in terms of vote percentage,” Naidu said. He emphasized that stable leadership leads to development and prosperity, noting that under Modi’s administration, development is driving an increase in revenue and wealth creation.
Naidu’s comments came in the wake of the BJP’s victory in Haryana and its strong performance in Jammu and Kashmir, where the party won the highest percentage of votes despite not securing a majority. Drawing parallels, he predicted similar success for the BJP in Maharashtra and Jharkhand, where elections are due soon. “If we observe these poll results, Maharashtra and Jharkhand would also yield the same result, I don’t have any doubt. I am confident that it will happen,” he stated.
Returning from a two-day visit to Delhi, Naidu lauded Modi’s leadership and urged support for the ‘one nation, one election’ initiative, arguing that frequent elections disrupt developmental work. He added, “Narendra Modi has given the administration by blending development, welfare, and good governance. It is yielding good results.”
Highlighting Modi’s impact, Naidu predicted that under the prime minister’s leadership, India would soon become the largest economy in the world. “I really appreciate the honourable Prime Minister for his extraordinary work,” he concluded, aligning his praise with the BJP’s broader vision of economic growth and stability.
Naidu’s endorsement of Modi and the BJP is seen as a strong signal of continued support from the Andhra Pradesh leader, who has previously been a key figure in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). His remarks are likely to further fuel the momentum for the BJP ahead of the elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand.
