New Revelations In Pune Porsche Accident: Mother, Father And Brother Attempted To Provide Blood Samples In Cover-Up

Pune Police made startling revelations on Friday regarding the tragic Porsche crash that claimed the lives of two individuals. The investigation revealed that several family members of the accused, a teenage boy allegedly driving the ₹2.5 crore electric supercar while intoxicated, were also under the influence of alcohol during the incident.

According to police reports, the accused’s father, mother, and brother were all found to be drunk when they allegedly conspired to bribe doctors at the state-run Sassoon Hospital to swap the teen’s blood samples with theirs in an attempt to misrepresent his alcohol levels. The original plan involved using blood samples from the boy’s father or brother. However, both were also found to be intoxicated, leading to the decision to utilize the mother’s blood instead, who has since been arrested.

The mother previously appeared in a video message claiming a viral video that appeared to feature her son was fake. In a tearful appeal, she urged law enforcement to “protect” him, expressing her distress over the situation.

Eyewitnesses at the crash site reported that the accused was so inebriated that he could barely stand. However, the preliminary medical report indicated a ‘negative’ reading for blood alcohol content, raising suspicions. The police confirmed that two doctors from Sassoon Hospital—Dr. Ajay Taware and Dr. Shrihari Halnor—have been arrested for their involvement in the blood sample swap.

In addition to the doctors, a hospital staff member named Atul Ghatkamble is also in custody. Two middlemen, Ashpak Makandar and Amar Gaikwad, who facilitated financial transactions between the teen’s father and the doctors, were arrested earlier in the investigation.

Further complicating matters, the police revealed that attempts were also made to swap blood samples for two other minors who were passengers in the car during the crash. Dr. Taware was allegedly set to be compensated ₹2.5 lakh for his assistance in this endeavor. However, complications arose as blood type mismatches and the presence of alcohol in the mothers’ blood prevented the planned swaps.

Investigators disclosed that trainee doctors were instructed to use dry cotton for blood draws, bypassing the standard practice of using cotton dipped in alcohol to avoid contamination, as part of the cover-up.

Pune Police Chief Amitesh Kumar acknowledged that local officers failed to adhere to proper protocols following the accident that occurred on May 19. “…but then we took drastic action,” he stated, reaffirming the police’s commitment to uncovering the truth.

The tragic incident took place when the accused lost control of the Porsche, running over a two-wheeler and killing 24-year-old software engineers Aneesh Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta. Just hours before the crash, the boy and his friends were seen celebrating their school exam results at local pubs, amassing liquor bills totaling nearly ₹50,000. In light of these events, the bar that served them has had its license revoked, and the premises have been sealed.

As the investigation unfolds, the shocking details surrounding the Porsche crash continue to raise questions about accountability and the lengths to which some will go to evade justice.
