Mumbai: Former chief minister and Shiv Sena Uddhav Thackeray (SSUBT) faction leader, Uddhav Thackeray on Thursday boycotted Congress Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi’s programs in Sangli. Reacting to the developments, Shiv Sena Eknath Shinde (SSES) faction deputy leader and former MLA, Krishna Hegde remarked that the cracks within the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) are evident.
The SSES spokesperson remarked that the SSUBT president boycotted the Congress scion’s official programs in Sangli today as he was upset as he (Uddhav Thackeray) was not being projected as the chief ministerial face or the MVA leadership face by Rahul Gandhi and Sharad Pawar led faction of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP-SP).
Hegde added that a miffed Uddhav Thackeray had announced his SSUBT faction candidate for Sangli assembly seat without consulting the Congress or the NCP-SP faction. The Congress on the other hand has snubbed the SSUBT chief by putting up their own candidate. “Therefore, an upset Uddhav Thackeray has boycotting Rahul Gandhis programs. The cracks in the MVA are evident”, added Hegde.
