In a fiery address following his release on interim bail from Tihar Jail, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), warning of dire consequences for democracy if Prime Minister Narendra Modi secures victory in upcoming elections. Kejriwal, slated to commence his poll campaign on Saturday, minced no words as he accused the ruling party of orchestrating a systematic crackdown on opposition voices.
“If PM Modi wins elections, he will put all the opposition leaders behind bars and end democracy,” Kejriwal asserted, citing concerns over the BJP’s purported agenda to stifle dissent. He further elaborated, “All opposition leaders including Mamata, Stalin, Uddhav will be in jail if BJP wins LS polls, UP CM will also be changed.”
The Delhi CM did not shy away from targeting PM Modi directly, alleging a concerted effort to undermine his party’s integrity. “PM has left no stone unturned to crush our party, sent four top AAP leaders to jail in one year,” Kejriwal claimed. He juxtaposed his own record in combating corruption, challenging PM Modi to learn from his example. “If he wants to learn about fighting corruption, he should learn from Arvind Kejriwal; we sent the corrupt to jail,” he asserted.
Kejriwal’s allegations extended to the very core of BJP leadership, suggesting a calculated strategy to sideline established figures within the party ranks. “PM Modi is turning 75, on 17th September. He made a rule that leaders in the party would retire after 75 years…LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Sumitra Mahajan, and Yashwant Sinha were retired and now PM Modi is going to retire on 17th September,” Kejriwal remarked, highlighting a purported power play within the BJP.
Furthermore, he painted a grim picture of the BJP’s future plans, suggesting an imminent reshuffling of leadership hierarchy. “If their government is formed, they will first dispose of Yogi Adityanath and then make Amit Shah the Prime Minister of the country,” Kejriwal alleged, signaling a potential upheaval in Uttar Pradesh’s political landscape.
The AAP leader’s allegations, while incendiary, reflect a broader narrative of political polarization and power struggles as India braces for pivotal elections. Kejriwal’s warning serves as a stark reminder of the high stakes involved, urging voters to carefully consider the ramifications of their choices on the future of democracy in the nation.
