The controversy surrounding Prajwal Revanna, the grandson of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda, has escalated with startling revelations emerging from his former driver, Karthik. Amidst allegations and counter-allegations, the situation has taken a complex turn, implicating multiple political figures in Karnataka.

JD(S) had initially accused Karthik of leaking the controversial sex tapes to the Congress, but Karthik refuted these claims, asserting that he had only provided the videos and pictures to BJP leader Devaraje Gowda. However, with reports circulating about Karthik’s disappearance, former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy raised questions about his whereabouts, claiming Karthik was in Malaysia and questioning who facilitated his travel there.

“The driver’s video statement was released…where is he, Karthik? From where it was done (video statement) and released? Why was the video hurriedly made and given to news channels? Who gave it? He is in Malaysia,” Kumaraswamy remarked.

Latest Developments:

  • HD Revanna, Prajwal’s father and also embroiled in the scandal, has sought pre-arrest bail after receiving a notice from the Special Investigation Team (SIT).
  • A lookout circular has been issued for Prajwal’s arrest, with reports suggesting that he is currently abroad and seeking more time to appear before the SIT.
  • Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of aiding Prajwal in fleeing the country, alleging his involvement in heinous crimes.
  • The Ministry of External Affairs clarified that Prajwal did not seek political clearance before traveling to Germany on his diplomatic passport, which exempts him from requiring a visa for travel.
  • Siddaramaiah, former Chief Minister of Karnataka, has urged PM Modi to revoke Prajwal’s diplomatic passport, a move that can only be executed under court directives, according to the MEA.
  • Prajwal Revanna is anticipated to return to India on May 15, as per reports.
  • HD Kumaraswamy has alleged the involvement of the ‘DK’ brothers, referring to DK Shivakumar and DK Suresh, in orchestrating Karthik’s trip to Malaysia.
  • However, DK Shivakumar has vehemently denied these accusations, stating his willingness to engage in political battles openly rather than resorting to such clandestine actions.

BJP’s Devaraje Gowda, to whom Prajwal’s former driver purportedly handed the pen drives containing the scandalous videos, has claimed that Karthik was in cahoots with the Congress candidate from Hassan, dismissing the entire episode as a conspiracy.
