Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing an election rally in Maharashtra’s Dharashiv district, launched a scathing attack on the opposition, accusing them of resorting to underhanded tactics to influence the outcome of the Lok Sabha election. Modi alleged that the opposition, driven by the fear of defeat, is disseminating fake videos of him on social media platforms.

During his speech, Modi asserted that the opposition is exploiting technology to fabricate and circulate false videos, aimed at tarnishing his image. He drew attention to the proliferation of such misleading content, suggesting that these videos are being peddled in what he termed their “Mohabbat ki dukaan” (shop of love), a reference frequently used by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in his speeches.

“They (Opposition) will keep abusing Modi. Putting false allegations, these days they are abusing Modi all day. Sometimes they say Modi will snatch away reservations, and end the Constitution, Why are they constantly lying? BJP has the maximum number of MLCs, MLAs, and MPs coming from SC, ST and OBC,” Modi exclaimed, as reported by ANI.

In a pointed rebuke, Modi highlighted the emergence of fake videos purportedly featuring his speeches and voice, attributing their creation to the opposition’s desperation to undermine his popularity. The Prime Minister’s remarks come amidst a recent controversy surrounding an alleged ‘fake’ video featuring Union Home Minister Amit Shah, which the BJP has denounced as false.

Underscoring the achievements of his government at the Centre, Modi emphasized his commitment to improving the lives of citizens across the nation. “Modi works day and night to change your lives. Whereas the INDI alliance is putting all efforts into changing Modi. I want to change your lives but they want to change me,” he asserted, according to ANI.

Continuing his tirade against the Congress party, Modi accused them of betraying the people of Maharashtra, particularly the region of Marathwada. He questioned the efficacy of a weak government in nation-building and cast doubt on the ability of a Congress-led administration to propel India towards progress.

“Can a weak government make a strong nation?.. Can a Congress govt take India to newer heights? Congress has only one identity – Betrayal”. It has betrayed Maharashtra. Congress was in power for 60 years. It could not provide water to the farmers’ fields in the state,” Modi remarked, underscoring the alleged failures of the Congress party during its tenure.

As the political rhetoric intensifies in the run-up to the elections, Modi’s accusations against the opposition signal a heightened atmosphere of contention and scrutiny, with each faction vying to sway public opinion in its favor.
