In a recent revelation by Praful Patel regarding purported discussions of a potential alliance between Sharad Pawar and the BJP in 2023, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) swiftly responded, labeling the claim as baseless and devoid of substance.

According to Clyde Crasto, the national spokesperson for NCP, Patel’s assertion holds no merit and is merely an attempt to bolster his own standing. Crasto emphasized that there is no truth to Patel’s statement, dismissing it as meaningless.

Crasto further expressed frustration over the treatment of the Ajit Pawar faction within the NCP, suggesting that the BJP regards them with disdain. He underscored that any supposed negotiations would have materialized earlier if they were indeed in the cards.

“This statement is meaningless and of no value and there is no truth in this statement. All these statements are only being made to increase their value as the BJP is treating the Ajit Pawar group as if they are nobody… If things were supposed to happen, they would’ve happened a long time ago…” Crasto reiterated, debunking Patel’s assertion.

The NCP’s swift dismissal sheds light on the complex political dynamics at play in Maharashtra and underscores the skepticism surrounding claims of alliance talks between the NCP and the BJP.
