The recent visit of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) President and Lok Sabha Member, Owaisi, to Ghazipur to pay respects to former gangster Mukhtar Ansari has ignited a firestorm on social media.

Owaisi’s Meeting with Ansari Family

On Sunday, Owaisi made his way to Ghazipur to offer condolences to Ansari’s family following his passing on Thursday.

However, the pictures of Owaisi sharing a meal with the Ansari family quickly made rounds on social media, triggering mixed reactions. Some users criticized Owaisi for dining with the family during such a sensitive time.

Saba Khan expressed her disapproval, stating, “He did not lend his support during Ansari’s final rites but chose to dine with his family.”

Another user, Shekhar Shashi, echoed similar sentiments, condemning Owaisi’s actions.

In a tweet, Owaisi defended his visit, saying, “Today we visited the home of the late Mukhtar Ansari to pay our respects to his family. During this difficult period, we stand in solidarity with his family, supporters, and well-wishers.”

Taking aim at the opposition, particularly the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Owaisi added, “Insha Allah, light will prevail over darkness. If you are ‘Pharaoh,’ then ‘Moses’ will certainly emerge.”

Meanwhile, Mukhtar Ansari was laid to rest at the Kali Bagh burial ground in Ghazipur on Saturday, beside his parents’ graves.

How Did Mukhtar Ansari Meet His End?

Ansari breathed his last on Thursday at a hospital in Banda, Uttar Pradesh, where he was admitted for chest pain. While the post-mortem report cited cardiac arrest as the cause of death, the opposition and Ansari’s supporters allege foul play, alleging poisoning. Hospital records indicate his admission at 8:25 pm on Thursday, with a medical team of nine attending to him before his demise.
