Despite being in the custody of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a case linked to the excise policy, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has issued an order for the health department, according to Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj.

In a press conference, Bharadwaj shared details of the order, highlighting Kejriwal’s concern for the health care of the state amid his detention. “The CM has received information that people are facing difficulties in the tests carried out at the Mohalla clinics. He has directed me to take steps to resolve this… I want to ensure the people of Delhi that even if your CM is in jail, he is only thinking about you,” Bharadwaj said.

Kejriwal, who remains under ED remand until March 28, issued his first government order from jail on March 24. This order pertained to the Water Department of the Delhi Government, overseen by senior party leader Atishi.

Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has called for a protest on March 26 outside the residence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the national capital in response to Kejriwal’s arrest. However, Delhi Police has stated that they have not granted permission for the protest.

The central agency has accused AAP and its ministers of accepting over ₹100 crores in bribes from liquor contractors nearly two years ago. Last week, the agency informed the Rouse Avenue Court that AAP had benefited from the Delhi Liquor policy and allegedly used ₹45 crore from that for the Goa assembly elections.
