Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin’s Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) has solidified its electoral strategy by finalizing a seat-sharing agreement with its long-standing ally, the Congress party. According to reports by NDTV, the DMK has allocated nine parliamentary seats to the Congress in Tamil Nadu and one in Puducherry, echoing the alliance’s formula from the 2019 elections.

This strategic move reaffirms the enduring partnership between the DMK and Congress, aiming to consolidate their political strength and maximize electoral gains in the upcoming polls. By allocating nine seats to the Congress in Tamil Nadu and one in Puducherry, the DMK underscores its commitment to a collaborative approach in facing electoral challenges.

The decision to maintain a similar seat-sharing formula from the 2019 elections reflects the confidence and trust between the two parties, built over years of cooperation and coordination in the political landscape of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. In the previous general elections, the Congress had contested ten seats in Tamil Nadu, securing victory in nine of them.
