The prospect of Bihar going to polls alongside the Lok Sabha elections was addressed by the Election Commission of India (ECI) during a recent press conference in Patna. With preparations underway and detailed data on voter demographics provided, the ECI affirmed its readiness to conduct elections in the state.
The constitutional authority to dissolve the Assembly lies with the Governor, who acts upon the advice of the cabinet. Should the Nitish Kumar-led cabinet advise dissolution, the Governor would make the final decision.
