In response to the political upheaval following the resignation of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and the delayed swearing-in of his successor, the Congress has taken decisive action to safeguard its MLAs from potential ‘horse-trading’ by the BJP. Concerned about the vulnerability of their MLAs, Mir stressed the importance of taking preemptive measures to protect them from potential coercion or inducement. He underscored the necessity of securing their safety in light of the uncertainty surrounding the political landscape in Jharkhand.
While the Congress remains committed to upholding democratic norms and principles, Mir affirmed that their actions were a pragmatic response to the prevailing circumstances. By sequestering their MLAs, the party aims to mitigate the risks posed by external pressures and ensure the integrity of the democratic process.
