Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav has turned down the invitation to attend the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha Event scheduled for January 22 in Ayodhya. The veteran politician, while addressing the media on INDIA bloc’s seat sharing, mentioned that the alliance discussions will take time and clarified that he will not be present at the consecration ceremony.

During discussions about the INDIA bloc’s seat-sharing arrangements, Lalu Yadav emphasized that the process takes time within an alliance. He explicitly stated that he will not be attending the pran pratishtha ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

Lalu Yadav’s decision follows the footsteps of Sharad Pawar, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) supremo, who declined the invitation earlier. In a letter to the General Secretary of Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, Champat Rai, Pawar expressed his decision to skip the ceremony on January 22. Additionally, he hinted at visiting the temple only after the completion of the construction work.

Earlier this month, Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav also declined the invitation to the Pran Pratishtha ceremony at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. He mentioned his intention to visit the temple with his family at a later date. Other notable political figures, including CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury, Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, have also turned down the invitation to the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony.

The ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony for Shri Ram Lalla at Ayodhya’s historic Ram Temple is scheduled for January 22. Vedic rituals for the ceremony began a week before the main event, with the general secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, Champat Rai, announcing that the Ram temple will be open for ‘darshan’ for the public from January 23.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has initiated an 11-day special ritual leading up to the Pran Pratishtha of Shri Ramlala at the Ayodhya temple, marking a significant event in the temple’s construction journey.
