Delhi’s Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, has found himself in the eye of the storm after choosing to bypass a summons from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) regarding an alleged liquor scam. In response, BJP’s Sambit Patra has launched a scathing attack on Kejriwal, highlighting his absence and criticizing his explanations.
Patra expressed his disdain for Kejriwal’s excuses, stating, “Today again he wrote a letter in which he said he received the ED summons just before his departure for his meditation which is widely published.” He pointed out the discrepancy in Kejriwal’s priorities, alternating between election campaigns and meditation while eluding accountability.
Accusing Kejriwal of evading responsibility, Patra emphasized the conflict between meditation and accountability. He remarked, “Kusashana and Vipassana can’t go hand in hand. If you have done kusashana, then you will have to face jail-asana.”
Kejriwal, responding to the summons, maintained his stance, rejecting the allegations as politically motivated. “This summons of ED is also illegal like the previous ones. ED’s summons are politically motivated. They should be withdrawn. I lived my life with honesty and transparency. I have nothing to hide,” Kejriwal asserted.
Patra continued his barrage, drawing parallels between the alleged liquor scam and the cohesion within the INDI alliance. He underscored the ongoing scrutiny into Kejriwal’s case, insinuating that substantial amounts were still under investigation.
The escalating confrontation between Kejriwal and the BJP reflects the intensified political landscape in Delhi, raising questions about accountability and the complex interplay between politics and the law.
