Shiv Sena (UBT) president Uddhav Thackeray didn’t hold back in his response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent criticism of NCP chief Sharad Pawar. Thackeray suggested that Modi should have addressed the significant Rs70,000 crore irrigation scam allegedly involving Ajit Pawar.
Speaking at Shrivardhan in Raigad district, Thackeray referred to Modi’s rally in Shirdi where the Prime Minister questioned Sharad Pawar’s contributions to farmers. Thackeray remarked, “While speaking at a rally in Shirdi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked what Sharad Pawar did for farmers. But, he didn’t mention Rs70,000 crore because someone was sitting there on the stage.”
Thackeray continued, “They said Sharad Pawar did nothing for farmers. But, let me remind you that it was Sharad Pawar who had brought in the farmers’ loan waiver worth Rs70,000 crore.”
Sharing the stage with Sharad Pawar and several other leaders from the INDIA front party, Thackeray also made a playful jab at Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, noting that the audience turnout resembled a Chief Minister’s rally due to the empty chairs in front of the stage.
Thackeray emphasized the unity of Congress, NCP, PWP, and Shiv Sena leaders on the dais, highlighting their collective opposition to what he termed “dictatorship and exclusivity tendencies.” He clarified that their opposition was directed not at a specific individual but at these tendencies in the political landscape.
Thackeray’s response highlights the ongoing political dynamics and discussions in the region, with a focus on key leaders and issues affecting the state.
