NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) Member of Parliament, Supriya Sule, raised a red flag over the deteriorating air quality in Pune, expressing her deep concerns as she arrived in the city on a Sunday morning. Sule took to social media to voice her distress, calling the polluted air quality a “serious concern” and likening breathing in Pune to the harmful effects of smoking 3-4 cigarettes a day.
In her latest social media post on platform X, Sule stated, “Just arrived in Pune from Mumbai, and the air quality is a serious concern. Breathing this polluted air feels like smoking 3-4 cigarettes a day! The health of our citizens, especially children and the elderly, is at risk.”
Sule didn’t stop at highlighting the issue but went on to demand swift action from the government and local authorities. She tagged the official X account of the Chief Minister’s Office in Maharashtra, stressing the urgency of addressing the problem.
This comes just a day after Supriya Sule expressed her worries about the declining air quality in Mumbai and the rising pollution levels in the city. She directed her concerns towards the Eknath Shinde Government in Maharashtra, criticizing them for not paying adequate attention to the escalating pollution issue. Sule accused the government of being “insensitive and fake” and claimed they were more focused on political divisions and controversies than addressing the critical environmental concerns facing the state.
