The Central Bureau of Investigation charged Congress leader Jagdish Tytler with inciting a mob to murder Sikhs in Delhi at Gurudwara Pul Bangash. Tytler has been accused of murder in connection with the 1984 Sikh riots.
The CBI stated that Tytler incited the mob, which set Gurudwara Pul Bangash on fire and killed Thakur Singh and Badal Singh in addition to three members of the Sikh community on 1.11.1984
The charge against the accused Jagdish reads, “Instigated, incited, provoked the mob to kill the Sikhs which resulted in the Gurudwara being set on fire by the mob and killing of three persons belonging to the Sikh community and also promoted enmity between different religious groups.”
The accused Jagdish was a part of the illegal assembly that had gathered near Gurudawara Pul Baangash on November 1, 1984
After her divisive “Operation Blue Star” provoked violence against the Sikh minority in the nation, then-prime minister Indira Gandhi was assassinated by her Sikh bodyguards in 1984. In the riots, at least 3,000 people died. According to unreliable estimates, there are 8,000 of them, with at least 3,000 of them in Delhi. The Central Bureau of Investigation gave Tytler a clean bill of health on three separate occasions, but the court had ordered the agency to look into the situation further.
