Mumbai: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in New Delhi has always had an eye on Mumbai and Maharashtra and the Modi government has taken the initiative to reduce the importance of Mumbai and the state. Since the Shinde government took over the state, important projects in Maharashtra have been shifted to Gujarat and in turn Maharashtra has been damaged, alleged Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) President Nana Patole.

Now, a decision to shift the office of Textile Commissioner from Mumbai to Delhi has been taken. Patole severely criticized that move and said that this is being done deliberately and is part of BJP’s strategy to destroy Maharashtra.

Speaking to the media in this regard, Nana Patole said that Mumbai is the financial capital of the country and an important city at the international city. Investments are coming from all over the world keeping in mind the infrastructure of Mumbai and Maharashtra and the favourable environment here. Industrially, Maharashtra has always been at the forefront of the country.

The ruling BJP has been trying to reduce the importance of Mumbai and Maharashtra for the past few years. After the Shinde government came to power in the state, big projects such as Vedanta-Foxconn, Bulk Drug Park, Medical Device Park and now Tata Airbus moved out of Maharashtra. Earlier, during the Fadnavis government, the International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) located at BKC in Mumbai was shifted to Gandhinagar in Gujarat.

Office of Patents, Designs and Trademarks shifted to Delhi, National Marine Police Academy shifted from Palghar to Dwarka in Gujarat. A large group of the diamond industry in Mumbai was located in the Pancharatna Building and went to Gujarat. Important offices and projects in Mumbai and the state have been shifted out of the state at the behest of Delhi. Since Mumbai cannot be taken to Gujarat, it is BJP’s plan to destroy it.

Answering a question asked by the media, Nana Patole said that we have always been saying that Prime Minister Narendra Modi works only for industrialist friends like Adani, Nirav Modi, Mehulbhai and not for the 140-crore people of the country. On one hand, Rahul Gandhi is struggling to save the country’s democracy and constitution, taking public questions and asking the government to answer, but the Modi government is trying to stop him by doing anything and corrupt businessmen are being given shelter.
