Womens Cricket League, Handwara Red Wings lifts the trophy

Srinagar: With an aim to showcase the talent, skill, athletic brilliance and passion of girls of North Kashmir towards cricket, the final match of Women’s Cricket League was organised at Bhakiaghar ground by the Indian Army Camp, Bhagatpura.

The final match of the Women’s Cricket League was played between Handwara Red Wings versus Kulungam Club. After winning the toss, Handwara Red Wings opted to field. Batting first Kulungam Club scored 81 Runs in 10 overs with no loss of wickets. Handwara Red Wings were off to a solid start and chased down the target in 8.2 Overs.

The Handwara Red Wings won the match by 6 wickets. The winners of the tournament were felicitated by Commanding Officer (CO) 21RR, Col Saurav Sharma, DDC, Rajwar, Suleiman Mir and DDC, Mawar, Khurshid Ahmad Dar.

The women’s teams appreciated the efforts of the Indian Army in organising this cricketing League and thus providing a platform for budding talents of the AOR.
