Mumbai: No matter how much pressure the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government at the Centre tries to exert pressure by blackmailing the opposition parties using central agencies like Enforcement Directorate (ED), Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Income Tax, they cannot overthrow the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government in the state, remarked Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) President Nana Patole. He argued that all the three alliance partners in the MVA government will unitedly fight against the oppressive tactics of the Centre and will not succumb to the pressures by the central agencies.

A meeting was held at MPCC headquarters at Tilak Bhavan, Dadar on Wednesday of all Congress ministers, MLAs and candidates who contested Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections previously. The meeting was held under the Congress party, under the chairmanship of MPCC President Nana Patole and in the presence of former union minister Pallam Raju. In the meeting a discussion was held regarding the digital membership drive and the political situation in the state.

Later speaking to the media after the meeting, Patole said that the MVA government has been formed with great efforts and struggle. The BJP leaders keep giving new dates every day of the fall of the MVA government, but they have not been able to overthrow the government despite their continuous efforts.

Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut has revealed that similar attempts are being made yet again by misusing the central agencies. “We are all with him and no matter how much pressure the BJP tries to exert, all the three parties will fight the BJP’s repression together. The citizens of the state are seeing all the drama unfold with their own eyes and will teach BJP a lesson”, said Patole.

Replying to queries from newspersons, Patole said that he did not think there would be any problem in the election to the post of the Assembly Speaker during the budget session. The election will be held in the first week of the budget session. Once the election program is finalised, party leaders will announce the name of the candidate.

The pandemic is now slowly receding and public life is returning to normal. The pandemic had imposed a number of restrictions on the work of the government and even the party. But now, as the number of patients is decreasing, the Congress ministers will be holding their Janata Darbar after March 10. Congress ministers will be touring districts across the state and will hold Janata Darbar’s to solve the problems of the people. Janata Darbar’s of the Ministers will also be organized at the MPCC head office in Mumbai. After March 10, the work of the government and the party will be separated and it will be made more public centric.

Also, the budget session was to be held in Nagpur but Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has recently recovered from his illness. Therefore, the session is to be held in Mumbai instead of Nagpur. If he recovers completely by that time, the venue can be changed.

Even if the session is held in Mumbai, the MVA government will take decisions that will drive development in the interest of the people of Vidarbha and Marathwada.

We have requested the Chief Minister to continue the subsidy of electricity bill for industrial use in Marathwada and Vidarbha and also to provide uninterrupted power supply for agricultural pumps for 12 hours daily. Vidarbha did not develop when the Chief Minister was from the region. The BJP should not worry about the development of Vidarbha. The MVA government is committed to the development of Vidarbha and Marathwada, said the Congress state president.
