New Delhi: As military tensions escalate between India and Pakistan following Indian airstrikes on terror camps in Pakistan’s Punjab province and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), the Ministry of Civil Aviation has issued a NOTAM (Notice to Airmen), suspending flight operations at around 20 airports in northern and western India until Saturday, May 10.

Flight operations have remained suspended since Wednesday after Indian Armed Forces launched missile strikes in retaliation to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, which killed 26 Indian civilians, most of them Hindu men. The strikes reportedly targeted terror launch pads operated by groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed.

Airports Affected by Closure:

  • Leh
  • Srinagar
  • Jammu
  • Amritsar
  • Pathankot
  • Chandigarh
  • Jodhpur
  • Jaisalmer
  • Jamnagar
  • Bhatinda

  • Dharamshala
  • Shimla
  • Rajkot
  • Porbandar
  • Bikaner

Several major Indian and foreign airlines have issued advisories citing security concerns, urging travelers to defer non-essential travel and plan accordingly. “The decision is precautionary and in national interest,” said an official from the Civil Aviation Ministry.
