Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has strongly criticised those questioning past actions related to Ayodhya and the Ram Janmabhoomi movement, while reiterating that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to examine concerns linked to donations for the Ram Temple Trust.
Speaking on the issue, the Chief Minister made a sharp remark targeting political opponents and past incidents from the Ram temple movement era. He said, “…Those who fired bullets at ‘karsevaks’ and wielded lathis for chanting Jai Shri Ram are now out here giving sermons…”
He further clarified that the government has initiated an SIT probe following a request from the Ram Temple Trust itself. According to him, the investigation is intended to bring transparency and clarity to all allegations related to the donation process.
“We have set up an SIT investigation (to probe Ram Temple donation issue) at the request of the Trust. The SIT probe will make everything crystal clear,” Yogi Adityanath said.
The Chief Minister also urged restraint in public discourse around the issue, stressing that sentiments of devotees of Lord Ram should not be hurt under any circumstances. He added that individuals with evidence should approach the investigating agency.
“I will tell everyone that nothing should be said that hurts the sentiments of Lord Ram devotees. If anyone has any evidence, they should present it to the SIT…” he said.
