Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a fierce attack on the ruling All India Trinamool Congress during a public rally in Paschim Bardhaman, West Bengal, accusing the party of pushing the state into corruption, mafia rule, and an identity crisis.

Addressing supporters at Barabani, Yogi said the state needed a “double-engine BJP government” to restore law and order and ensure development.

He said, “The realisation of the dream, once envisioned by Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, has been accomplished today under the leadership of our PM Modi. Article 370 has been abolished in Kashmir.”

Yogi added that Indian law now applies uniformly in Kashmir just as it does in Bengal, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh.

TMC Accused of Corruption, Fear, and Mafia Rule

Yogi alleged that Bengal has suffered under TMC rule for the last 15 years and accused the party of allowing corruption and criminal networks to flourish.

He said, “We no longer want the TMC, who have made Bengal go through an identity crisis for the last 15 years, who have turned Bengal into a den of terror, mafia rule, and corruption.”

According to him, public funds sent by the Centre are being misused. “While PM Modi sends money for the public from Delhi, TMC goons embezzle the money,” he alleged.

The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister compared Bengal’s present condition with the situation in UP before the BJP came to power in the state.

He said, “The anarchy you see here, the atmosphere of fear, the riots, the reign of mafia, the siphoning off and corruption of funds meant for development—this kind of dire situation prevailed in Uttar Pradesh 9 years ago as well.”

Yogi claimed that lawlessness, riots, and organised crime were common in Uttar Pradesh before the BJP government took office.

‘Double-Engine Government’ Presented as the Solution

Promoting the BJP’s “double-engine government” model, Yogi argued that aligning the state government with the Centre would improve governance and reduce corruption.

He said, “There is only one solution to this, and that is the double-engine BJP government.”

He further promised that the BJP would eliminate mafia influence and restore safety for citizens if voted to power in Bengal.
