Mumbai: Maharashtra Minister of State Yogesh Kadam has strongly refuted allegations made by Congress leader Nana Patole regarding a purported honey trap scandal. Responding to the media reports, Kadam said, “There has been no official confirmation regarding this entire matter so far. No complaint has been filed at any police station in this regard. The reports appearing in the media seem completely baseless.”
He further added that the allegations appear to be a political ploy. “This appears to be an attempt to defame our government. If anyone has evidence, they should come forward — politics should not be done by spreading mere rumors,” Kadam asserted.
The controversy erupted during a recent session in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly when Nana Patole, a senior Congress MLA, raised serious concerns about media reports claiming that over 70 top-ranking officials and politicians had fallen prey to a honey trap operation in cities such as Nashik and Thane.
Patole demanded an official inquiry and clarity in the Assembly by day-end, warning that the opposition parties would escalate protests if no response was forthcoming.
