Srinagar: An Ex-Service Men’s (ESM) meet was organised at Jugtial, Kupwara by the Indian Army. A total 145 ESMs and nine Veer Nari’s attended the event. The meet was organised to mark the 70th Raising Day of Sainik Welfare Department. Commander of the 68 Mountain Brigade and Commanding Officer 41 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) graced the meet and interacted with the ESMs. Zila Sainik Welfare Officer also attended the meet.
The Commander addressed the gathering on various issues concerning ESMs and also gave a brief about the Agnipath scheme. Thereafter the ESMs put forth issues to the Commander related to facilities of ECHS and CSD. Issue of drug menace and garbage disposal was also discussed. A request for raising the NCC Battalion at Kupwara was made to engage the youth into a disciplined atmosphere.
All these points were then discussed by the Commander with the ESMs and he expressed his gratitude towards the ESMs for sharing their concerns and various issues. Zila Sainik officer also addressed the gathering and spoke about various issues related to the civil administration. Certain issues of documentation of ESM and how the same can be resolved with the help of Zila Sainik Welfare department were also discussed.
Dr Javeed Maqbool, DM, CSC shared all the Schemes and Services of CSC-SPV. All the services of CSC Schemes and programs especially SPARSH, ABPMJAY (Ayushman Bharat Golden Card), PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna, Tele-Law, Micro ATM Banking, Digipay, etc were briefly discussed with the ESMs.
The meet concluded with felicitation of Veer Nari, senior ESMs and gallantry award winners. Pamphlets of Zila Sainik Welfare Office were distributed amongst the attendees followed by refreshments.
