Utmost precautions being taken to face Tauktae cyclone: Uddhav Thackeray

Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray today informed Union Home Minister Amit Shah that utmost precautions are being taken at villages alongside the sea coast given the cyclonic storm Tauktae.

He said that amid the COVID crisis, the administration has been directed to ensure that there is no power outage in the hospitals. Besides, all arrangements are in place for a smooth supply of oxygen to the needy patients, he added.

A virtual meeting was held between Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray and the administrator of Dadra and Nagar Haveli this morning.

Thackeray assured the Home Minister that there won’t disruption in the power supply and even the backup is provided in case of any eventuality to treat the patients.

He said patients in Jumbo COVID centres in Mumbai have been shifted to other hospitals. Moreover, in districts that will face the impact of the cyclonic storm there oxygen backup of 12-16 hours has been done.
