In Tamil Nadu, government buses have started plying within district boundaries from this morning, following relaxations on Covid-19 restrictions announced by the state government yesterday.
450 of 900 odd buses under the control of 14 workshops in Trichy district have been put into service today morning. The district manager clarified that more services upto district boundaries on Thanjavoor, Madurai, Namakkal etc can be operated according to demand.
All the buses have been checked and serviced to ensure maximum operating efficiency. Passengers have been asked to board buses through the back door only – subject to number restrictions – and they have been requested to sanitize their hands using the dispenser placed near the door.
The operating staff have been asked to wear masks and ensure cleanliness of hands and bus surfaces.
